Running on Faith Weekday Devotions (Tuesday, Feb 7, 2023):
Mt 5:13–16: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out & trampled under foot by men. (Discussion on Salt: https://youtu.be/34SHm3eGuRM 4:05 min)
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp & put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, & it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, & glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
I discuss salt in the video.
Labor Day Weekend 1991, Bryan Danburg & I drove to Rapid City for a Marathon Relay. As the skies darkened while traveling, we saw the lights of Alliance. A few miles later, a mileage sign read “Alliance 100”. We climbed another approx. 800 ft before reaching Alliance. A shining light on a hill is seen >100 miles.
How are you representing Christ to distant observers?
