Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:
Romans 15:13: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
True, enduring Hope is eschatology eschatological (eternal) founded in God, thru Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. This hope is built on rock (Mt 7:24-27).
Sunday during church we prayed for needed rain. I reminded all that while we can use rain, our hope is always founded in the Lord, not the rain.
Hope founded in creation is like building your house on sand. This ultimately leads to bitterness, outburst of anger (Gal 5:20), & weeping & gnashing of teeth (Mt 13:28; et.al).
Pray that these find the true hope in Christ!
Conversely, Hope in God thru Christ yields a spring of living water, including joy & peace.
While we all have our *moments*, our lives, faces, words, & tonality reveal whether our hope is in God the Creator, or only in creation.
In what or whom is your hope founded?
