Mk 7:32–35: “They brought to Jesus one who was deaf…, they implored Him to lay His hand on him. Jesus took him by himself from the crowd, & put His fingers into his ears, & after spitting… “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!” And his ears were opened…”
Ro 10:17: “So faith comes from hearing, & hearing by the word of Christ.”
Gal 3:5: “So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit & works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing of faith (the word of Jesus Christ)?”
Col 3:16: “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching & admonishing one another with psalms & hymns & spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
In healing the deaf, Jesus again illustrates the Father’s power, fulfills OT prophecy, & reveals the Father by whom we can hear & comprehend HIS word of love, repentance, forgiveness, & salvation thru Jesus Christ.
