Seek the Lord
Wherever life places you, ask the Lord to reveal what He wants you to learn
If you’re in the river, enjoy the water, splash around, swim, jump off the bank into deep areas, canoe or tube forward, or catch fish. Consider the carrying capacity of the water and how the carrying capacity increases in relation to volume. Where did the contents of the stream originate?
Observe the rocks on the bottom and on sandbars:
What type of rock are they?
Where may have they originated?
How long might they have been in this location?
If you’re along the river’s bank, study the vegetation, the trees, the wildlife, and topography.
If you’re in the valley, cultivate and harvest in the fertile soils, appreciate the porosity of sandy soils, and ponder the soil profile along with the depth to groundwater and bedrock beneath both.
If you’re on the slopes, laugh if you slide down. Inquire the cause of the slope, wind, glaciers, volcano, or erosion. Ponder the underlying soil profile. What, if any, types of trees and forage are growing. How does your elevation relate to the tree line.
If you’re on top of the mountain, stand in awe of the amazing beauty. Observe each soil or rocks, each leaf, each color, including the order of colors in relation to other colors and in relation to the specific locale.
If you’re in isolation, ponder the whole of each spectrum and seek God’s wisdom and direction to serve Him now and going forward using each of your life’s learning points to date.
These are only a few ideas for each spectrum on life’s winding journey.
