Devotions – God hates Lying

Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:

Proverbs 6:16-19: “..the Lord hates…Yes, seven are an abomination to Him (Lit. “Of His soul”):
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.”

God is Truth. And, truth is independent of agreement (Jn 8:31-32). A lie is a lie regardless of how often, loudly, & confidently repeated.

Jesus told the Pharisees that Satan is the Father of Lies. Liars mock Jesus & Christians. They shed innocent blood and/or approve of murdering the most innocent among us.

Christians are instructed to avoid partnering (“yoking”) with unbelievers, those who partner with the Father of lies, deceit, and murder (Jn 8:44).

Regardless of exterior appeal, avoid these relationships (2 Cor 6:14)! Would you board a ship with one who continually drills holes?

Eventually, the ship will sink!

Truth always wins!
