Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:
Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death (valley of deep darkness), I fear no evil (harm), for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Job (10:21-22) spoke of the darkness & a deep shadow valley when he questioned God on why he was even born.
Light is the wisdom & hope of Christ. Some of God’s great people endured dark, hopeless times.
Their ONLY hope was the Lord!! They knew that their life was in the Lord’s hands. Through faith, they trusted in the unseen Light amidst the darkness. The shepherd’s rod & staff assured them of God’s presence.
As a child, I was scared to check my banklines alone on the river on moonless, pitch black nights.
Conversely, I was fearless when my dad joined me, even though I could only hear his presence amidst the shadows of darkness.
Whatever you’re going thru, Jesus Christ the Shepherd is immediately beside you. If necessary, repent!
Trust Jesus instead of the hopeless valley of deep darkness!
In Christ,
Rick
