Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:

For whom do you pray?

Ephesians 1:18–19a: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.”

In mid-November 2006, my dad was hospitalized with lung cancer. My sister & ~6 wk old nephew, Wyatt, were released from NICU in an Omaha hospital. Wyatt had a bunch of wires connected to him.

I sat in the car with Wyatt outside the hospital while Dee visited our dad on this cold November afternoon.

For 30+ minutes I fervently prayed for Wyatt. I prayed for his physical health, and even more passionately that he would seek, serve, & trust the Lord each day of his long life.

I prayed that his faith in & love for Christ will endure regardless of future events. I never imagined him losing his mom at age nine.

I continue praying for Wyatt & you!
