Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:
What type of spiritual “soil” are you?
Mark 4:20: “And those are the ones on whom seed (God’s word) was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”
The poorest soils in this parable were:
1. Highly compacted (along the road)
2. Thorny
3. Rocky
1. The seed/word was stolen by Satan,
2. Lost due to discouragement from persecution, &
3. lost due to starvation, dehydration, & stabilization from the rocks
preventing root growth. Roots uptake nutrients, water, & provide stabilization.
We develop great roots & high spiritual yields thru believing the Bible. We receive spiritual nutrients, water, & stabilization thru an intimate relationship with God thru the Word (seed) made flesh-Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.
Pray, give thanks, encourage, worship, study the word/Bible to intimately know God. Ponder theTrinity & that the best soil also has 3 components (sand silt, & clay).
