Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:
Mark 3:14–15: “And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach, and to have authority to cast out the demons.”
About 25 yrs ago, a popular phrase existed, “What would Jesus do?” Some wore bracelets with “WWJD.”
A few yrs ago Charles Baylis, DTS prof of Bible Exposition, shared that he likes to ask his Gospels class, “How many of you can do what Jesus did?” He would then ask about various specifics in the Bible.
None of us can GIVE power to cast out demons, heal, raise the dead, or forgive sins for eternal life. Only God can give any of these. His point, we are NOT Jesus, we are NOT God!!
However, any and all good we do comes from Him. We worship & praise Jesus, the 2nd person of the trinity-Father, Son, & Holy Spirit-not replicate or replace Him. We share extend His mercy, grace, & love to others.
Satan was kicked out of heaven because he rebelled, thinking he was God’s equal.
Trust, seek, praise, & worship the triune God. Share Christ’s grace, mercy, & love with all whom you encounter.
