Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:
God’s thoughts and ways extend infinitely beyond our greatest comprehension. DTS Prof of Bible Exposition, Dr. Charles Baylis, once said that he would not be surprised, scripture does not specifically say, if God continually reveals Himself to us thru-out eternity.
Let that sink in!
I share Baylis’s hypothesis. Regardless if we’re right or wrong, God is infinitely greater than man in every way. Yet, we often try to explain or deny God’s sovereignty and provision through our logic.
Job 26:11–14: “The pillars of heaven tremble And are amazed at His rebuke. He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab. By His breath the heavens are cleared; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.
Behold, these are the fringes of His ways; And how faint a word we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?”
Can we comprehend the majesty, microbiology, biochemistry, & ecosystem of the Rocky Mountains from the fringes of the foothills?
Seek & Trust God regardless of your logic!
Ponderings:
- Do you tremble and stand in amazement at God’s rebuke?
- How long do you meditate on God each day?
- Meditate on His direct and indirect interactions, this includes all layers and types of relationshipsnshps, in your life.
- Meditate on the intricacies of all the interactions and balances in the mountain’s composition and synergy of the rocks, soil, topography, vegetation, flora, fungus, microbial activity, biochemical interactions, animals, rain, snow and all the other components that God created and orchestrated.
- Meditate on the amazement of the human body.
- Are you willing to meditate on awesomeness God at least 15 minutes every morning and 15 minutes every night?
