Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:

When I was a volunteer fireman, one of our drills included wearing the air pack. We placed tissue paper in the window of the sealed mask & shut-off the rooms’ lights. The Chief rearranged the rooms.

We then crawled around to simulate being in a pitch black burning building. We couldn’t see anything!! We navigated by feel. Afterwards we turned on the lights. Wow! What a different perspective. We navigated much easier with light!

John 8:12 :Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.’”

Life is significantly easier to navigate within the distinguishing the Light of LIfe of Jesus Christ.

We distinguish the black & white of Wrong & Right. We see our sin & our Redeemer. We receive & generously share grace, mercy, & love. Despite Life’s challenges, we see Hope with the clarity of HD.

You are free from the fears of darkness when in the Light of Christ!

Ponderings:

Reflect on moments that you have walked in pitch-black physical darkness.

Reflect on when you have walked in spiritual darkness.

What are the similarities?

What sensation did you experience when physical light is restored?

How does this compare to walking from spiritual darkness into the Light of Life by receiving eternal salvation through belief in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sin?

How does the Light of Christ enhance your physical life and relationships?
