Running on Faith Weekday Devotions:

Psalm 119:15 “I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways.”

Meditate v. — to think intently and at length for spiritual purposes.

Precept n. — rule of personal conduct. Way ⇔ highway of conduct.

What image does meditation generate in your mind? Perhaps you envision a monk or a yoga type person such as pictured below.

Fortunately, as Christians we can meditate on God and His word, anytime, anywhere. This includes while working, driving, sitting at your desk, or running the Boston Marathon.

Rick runs up Heartbreak Hill during the 2018 Boston Marathon. The combination of 30-degree temps, pouring rain, and 30 plus mph wind were less than ideal.

Regardless of whether you are experiencing good times or when you’re under attack, meditate on God’s Holy & Righteous character that seeks an eternal relationship with all who repent & turn to Jesus for forgiveness.

Psalm 119:99 “I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.”

Meditate on God’s sovereignty, provision, truth, & principles as revealed in the Bible & as evidenced in your life. His word in the Bible always trumps our interpretation of our personal experiences.

Meditate by examining every angle of the above with a fresh prospective, while continuing to increase the magnification of your thought microscope.

Remember the 80s band Kool N the Gang’s hit song, “Meditate good times…”
